I received this book from TLC Book Tours in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I’m a big fan of Adriana Trigiani’s novels and have been reading them for years. They’re light and usually focus on family in some aspect, with a big of a not-too-wimpy love story thrown in. They also focus on a strong female character.
The Supreme Macaroni Company by Adriana Trigiani is no exception. Valentine is a shoemaker, a fabulous designer, who has fallen in love with Gianluca, a tanner. This is a modern story, focusing on Valentine’s romance with Gianluca, with the lesson that everything worth having isn’t always easy. In addition, The Supreme Macaroni Company describes the process of expanding Valentine’s shoe empire.
Whether you are a long-time fan of Adriana Trigiani or brand new to her novels, The Supreme Macaroni Company is worth the read.

So let’s talk shoes. . . I’m a flats girl. You?

I love Adriana Trigiani’s books – especially ‘don’t sing at the table’ it reminded me a lot of my own Italian family – my mum & her sister loved it too. I’m looking forward to reading this one.

I haven’t read Don’t Sing! But it’s nonfiction, right? I would love to read it. I’m not Italian, but my husband is half. And Adriana Trigiani is just a really great, light writer. I think one of my recent favorites of hers was Queen of the Big Time (I think that was the title).

Yes its about how her grandparents (both sides) came to America, very hardworking grandmothers, I’m part Italian myself (mum’s side)which is why I think my mum & sister loved it so much

Every other day you introduce me to new authors 🙂 I have never read any of her novels…
I’m a heels girl, but lately I’ve been into flats, because of laziness I guess.

Oh my gosh, she’s so good! You like the girlie-ish but not too girlie books, and Trigiani writes just like that.
Heels? Go you. . . I prefer comfortable flats! 😀

I’m getting old now, my feet can’t handle it anymore 🙂 but I still like to buy them and wear them to places where I just sit all day. Like church and work …

You know I’m a huge fan of Adriana Trigiani. In fact, I think I introduced you to her books. I have this book to listen to. I’m so glad you liked it.
Barefoot is best, but kitten heels at a nice treat.

You did introduce me to her!
Barefoot? In Florida??? You never let me go around barefoot. . . and you??? Being allergic to fire ants. . . that sounds like a terrible thing.

are a nice treat! Damn you auto-correct!

Seriously autocorrect. It could have been way worse.

I was a flats, flip flop, ugg-style (generic brands) shoe girl until last month. Now it’s super supportive/expensive tennis shoes for awhile. But if it gets my feet back in shape to get back to my flip flops next summer, that’s cool. Love flip flops the best of them all!

I guess as a Florida girl, I’m the most used to flip flops. But I’m all about cute, supportive tennis shoes for distance walking! Keeping those feet/calves healthy!

I vary between sneakers and boots. Work usually requires a more professional look specially when I have to go to customers but for spare time sneakers all the way.
I am not sure this book would be something for me. Might have to give it a try when I look for something fun to read. Thanks for sharing.

I’m a flats girl as well. Used to do the tall heels, but yeah let’s say age catches up with us fast. I have not read this author at all, but definitely sounds like one I would like. Thanks for a great review 🙂

Thanks, Dalene! Trigiani actually has one of her books (and it’s a series so there might be more!) being made into a movie right now. I’m about 3 hours or so away from where they are filming, which sucks because they needed extras!!!!

I have heard mixes reviews on this one though in general seems like Trigiani is an author I should read! I am a tennis shoes snd slippers girl mostly out of necessity because of RA pain in my feet. But for special occasions I love my slip on sandals. Gonna have to break them out for hubby ‘s work xmas party on friday. 🙂

Tanya, I think you’d really like Trigiani. The Big Stone Gap series is being made into a movie right now actually. And she’s totally a light but still meaty enough author.

I used to love heels, but now I am a flats girl (preferably sneakers). This sounds like a fun romance. I need to check Trigiani out!

She’s so good! I think one of my favorites is Queen of the Big Time, but you can’t go wrong with her books. If you want even more romance from her, check out The Shoemaker’s Wife. It was recommended to me by a million people and while I love Trigiani, it was a little too romance for me. But then again, I stay away from the love story stuff for the most part. Although if you read my latest few reviews, you’d never know it!

Yes! I can help you pick out which one to start with, too. Or my mom can. She’s a huge fan as well, and introduced Trigiani as an author to me.

My MIL has been asking me if I’ve read this one. She just loves her some Trigiani! I’m excited to tell her you give it the thumbs up! (I am all about flats. I love the way heels look, but I’m bad at balance and I like to be comfy.)

It’s a good Trigiani for sure! And yeah, flats all the way! I can be short and still wear flats. It’s comfy!
